Professionally Designed Course Content: All college prep course content mirrors what is taught on Southlands Christian Schools’ campus. State-approved, professionally published textbooks serve as the backbone for the content in each of our courses.
Engaging Learning Environment: The online learning environment utilized is designed to engage students in the learning process and meet the needs of individual learners with different modes of learning. This includes textbooks, video instruction, live instructional sessions, interactive learning activities, discussion forums, and much more.
Unique Instructional Tools: The tools used within each online class are incorporated to maximize learning and are unique to each Southlands Online courses. Each online high school course has instructional videos that include graphics, animations, explanations, and easy-to-understand instruction for each academic concept within the lesson.
Teacher / Student Interaction: Instruction takes place through pre-recorded instructional sessions, live instructional sessions, one-on-one time with the teacher, discussion forums, and teacher-designed learning activities.
Easy to Understand Course Layout: Southlands’ online courses are designed in a way that pacing and course material is easy to understand. Students are presented with a weekly outline, a uniform progression model for each class, and checkpoints to ensure that they’ve completed all learning activities, homework, quizzes, and tests.
Multiple Means of Assessment: Online assessments are included for every lesson within a course. These assessments include projects, presentations, journals, portfolios, graphic organizers, academic essays, product creation, self-reflection & evaluation exercises, discussion forums, research and academic reporting, as well as traditional quizzes and tests.
