Southlands online school is a college preparatory program that aims to help students prepare to enter and get accepted to the school that best suits their personal goals and needs. To make this a possibility, Southlands Christian Schools has created a systematic approach of getting to know families & students, and learning about student’s individual academic strengths and goals. The program is divided into the following portions.
9th Grade College Prep:
- Individualized Academic Plan : Students meet their counselor and develop a 4-year academic plan
- PSAT testing : The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC)
- InView Testing: A cognitive abilities assessment
10th Grade College Prep:
- College Counseling: Individualized meeting with the college counselor updating the Individualized Academic Plan, identifying academic goals, & discussing optimal colleges
- DAT: The Differential Aptitude Test (DAT) is utilized to measure career skills and strengths
- PSAT Testing : The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a program cosponsored by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC)
- College Night: College Preview & Preparation On-campus event for learning about universities & the application process
11th Grade College Prep:

12th Grade College Prep:
- College Counseling: Individualized meting finalizing plans for university application, deadlines, and application procedures
- Financial Aid: Individual meeting training students on financial aid application process
- College Application Follow-up & Letters of Recomendation: College Trips, College Fairs, On-Campus meetings with college representatives
