Southlands campus holds many opportunities for students to get involved in different activities. Athletics, art, music, drama, social clubs, dances, speeches, debates, academic competitions, and student leadership council are just some of the possibilities that are available to students on campus. Each of these aid students in developing character and skill in spheres that they are passionate about.
The athletics department is well developed and is open to students of all ages. Southlands is a member of the California Inter-Scholastic Federation (CIF) and competes in the Western Athletic Conference. There are many sports to choose from for both male and female athletes. Our current sports are football, volleyball, baseball, softball, soccer, basketball, cross country, and tennis. At the end of the sports season we honor all varsity athletes by rewarding them with a varsity SC letter / bar and emblem for the sport they participated in.

The visual and performing arts are an integral part of student life at Southlands. Both Middle School and High School have “award-winning” choirs. Over half of our high school students participate in choir, where they participate in competitions at various venues each year. In the Drama Department, the Southlands Dinner Theatres, under the direction of Ms. Tammy Lai, have received outstanding reviews. Students are not only able to act, but also participate in costume-making, set-building, and directing. Two productions are presented each year, one in the fall and one in the spring. In the art department students are coached through many different types of self-expression through artistic mediums. Once a year students have an opportunity to display their art in Southlands annual art exhibition.

Social clubs are also an integral part of student life at Southlands. There are various clubs that meet to discuss and enjoy various areas of interest. From math, to movies, to sports, there is a club for almost anyone. If there isn’t an existing club for students to join, we strongly encourage and aid students in developing new clubs! Clubs are a wonderful opportunity for students to make friends who share the same passion as them, mature an interest that they have, as well as develop participatory and leadership skills.
Southlands campus also hosts many social events for students to enjoy. The high school holds large-scale all school events throughout the year. One of the biggest events is our three-day camp where we get away from busy school life and enjoy activities, games, and spending time with each other. Southlands also hosts three annual dances where students socialize, dance, and have fun with one another. Besides all-school events, there are also class events that take place. Every class has monthly activities where they get away from school work and just have fun together.
Southlands campus lacks no opportunity for students to get involved in something they like, make friends who share the same interest, and develop a particular passion that they have. All you need to do is come and get involved!
