- Will Southlands help me get into a good university?
Yes! Southlands’ students go to many prestigious universities in America. Southlands students’ scores on college board SAT exams are 20-25% higher than the state and national student’s scores. Also, Southlands offers many different courses and programs that enable students to be well-rounded and very marketable when applying to university.
- Are online course standards just as high as regular course standards?
Absolutely! Southlands Online course standards are designed to meet or exceed California State Standards. All coursework is rigorous and contains the same, and in many cases even more, methods of teaching, grading, and monitoring student progress than the traditional classroom environment.
- Will online study give me a real international experience?
Southlands Online will give you the international experience that you are looking for. While living in a foreign nation is the best way to experience it, this is not practical for everyone. Through online education you will experience the American classroom, guidance from and interaction with American instructors, and interaction with international peers.
- How will Southlands help me prepare to study overseas?
If you want to study in a high school or university overseas, Southlands Online will benefit you greatly. Experiencing the American classroom and learning about the culture will help prepare you to make a smooth transition into the American academic environment. . Also, getting credits before you come will help you complete a diploma in less time, open up more classes to you once you arrive, and make you more marketable when applying to university.
- Will I really be able to learn online?
Yes! Southlands Online courses provide both a virtual classroom experience and a traditional classroom environment. Course material is delivered by a certified teacher who’s lectures you watch on the internet; however, classes take place in schools so teachers can help you, keep you on task, and monitor assignment completion and test-taking.
- What if I have questions or I don’t understand?
If you have questions, your course instructor is available to you 24 hours a day and is just a mouse-click away. You can post questions to your instructor at any time and they will answer you within 24 hours on any regular school day.
- How do I know my grades and my course progress?
Southlands Online virtual classroom experience utilizes an online grading program that allows students to see their progress any time of the day. It also enables teachers to give input about any particular assignment for each individual student.
- What do I receive when I successfully complete a class?
Upon successfully completing a class, students receive an official transcript of grades and a certificate of completion for the course.
- Can the courses that I take online be used towards acquiring a high school diploma?
Yes, they can. All core-coursework successfully completed can be used towards obtaining a high school diploma.
- What is the cost of the course?
Since coursework is administered in partnership with overseas schools, each area and school has different fees relating to program administration costs. Visit your local site to get an exact cost of each individual course.

Southlands offers overseas schools and academies a unique opportunity to provide students with a program that can both prepare students for overseas study and give them American high school credits. Furthermore, it enables overseas institutions to issue an accredited American diploma to their students.

Southlands Online is a joint program that requires a real partnership between Southlands and overseas schools. The program helps overseas institutions because it is unique and has things to offer that no other program does. This helps overseas schools in getting a broader student population and greatly adds to the schools already existing programs without requiring a large investment.
- What is the quality of Southlands’ program?
Southlands is accredited by both the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). All of our coursework meets and exceeds California state standards and is college preparatory.
- What kind of students graduate from Southlands?
Southlands students’ scores on college board SAT exams are 20-25% higher than the state and national student’s scores. Also, due to Southlands offering many different courses and programs, Southlands’ students are well-rounded and very marketable when applying to university.
- What type of facility is required for an institution to host Southlands Online classes?
An overseas partnering institution would need to have classrooms equipped with a computer and a projection screen for viewing lectures. They would also need an internet speed connection of 3 Mbps or more. Schools could also utilize a media room where every student has their own computer to view the material, but this isn’t necessary.
- What type of staff is required?
Partnering institutions will be responsible for basic administration such as enrolling students and collecting payments. The partnering school will also need to hire an in-class teacher to administrate the class and proctor the students during testing.
